Chapters 17-21

Chapter 17 ends with Huck and Jim being separated. Huck then finds a house in the country and a family that takes him in as there own. The Family is feuding with the neighbors, the Sheperdsons. It kind of reminds me of Romeo and Juliet. They are just killing people over something that happened in the past and the families are holding ancient grudges. And of course there are two lovers, but they are on different sides of the feud. What a surprise! Then when Huck is looking for water moccasins with his slave he comes across Jim. Jim tells him why he got lost and that they found the boat unharmed. Next Sophia runs off to marry a Sheperdson boy. And when the dad and two brothers got killed Buck wanted revenge. But him and his cousin got killed. Huck decided to leave so he went and got Jim then left. Later on they come across to guys one about 70 and one about 30. Both running from trouble. The 30 year old said he was a duke going threw a hard time. He convinced Huck and Jim to wait on him! Then the 70 year old said he was Lewie the 17th so he would get attention. They made Huck and Jim do the dumbest things! Like bow when they speak, feed them, and keep watch out in the bad weather. If I were escaping for freedom I wouldn't listen to them. Next they have a great idea to go to town and get actors and perform Romeo and Juliet for money. The town hated the play so they left town. But now the duke had an idea to travel in day time and say they were turning Jim in for a reward. now they are in a very southern town. Its kind of funny because it sounds alot like some people in Purvis; drunk, kind of crummy homes, and nobody cares!
