Chapters 1-3; "A Separate Peace"

I don't read much so it is very hard for my attention to be caught. "A Separate Peace" so far has not appealed to me much at all. It starts off giving description about the school. But when it changed to telling the story about the tree was very hard for me to follow. Later on when Gene talks about how 'Phineas gets away with everything' some what got me involved. Then when it went back into another story about the tree and the Super Suicide Society of the Summer Session I got very lost. I had to read back over it to understand what was going on. It began to get easier to follow in chapter three when Gene and Finny were discussing sports and sports records. This showed me what kind of characters Gene and Finny are. Gene is definitely a follower. He does just about anything Finny does. Finny is the athletic jock type. He is the guy everyone wants to be friends with or be like. Gene just happens to be his best friend but he doesn't exactly know why. In conclusion, this story started out slow and still has picked up for me yet.

  1. You might want to read Sara's or Adrienne's blogs to help you understand what's going on.
